Scales or Balances calibrated in a factory in China, Taiwan, Japan, Europe, may not read 100% accurately in the UK due to differences in local gravitational pull, shipping bumps, and temperature changes. Gravity varies slightly across the Earth, meaning precision or trade-approved scales should always be recalibrated for their final location.

When looking for a new scale,  we use the following terminology to determine suitable products.

Platform size - This is the maximum size that you can weigh goods.

Capacity - The maximum Gross weight the scale will weigh.

Minimum weight - The minimum weight the specific model of scale is designed for.

Division size - This is the smallest division size the display will show.
Repeatability - Repeatability is the ability to repeat the results within the tolerance of the scale components

Display -  Retail users  -  Choose a scale that the customer can see prior to purchase (1985 W&M Act).

Used equipment

When purchasing used equipment we would recommend checking the calibration with weights and operation prior to usage.

Some scales can have columns, special configurations and weight, and may need assemly prior to use as such we reccommend collection due to carrier damage if in doubt please contact us - thank you
