Whilst using alternatives get you running this may cause damage to the main board months down the line as the voltage regulator circuit on the main board can burn out ,Power supplies that have broken pins, casings and damaged leads need to be replaced for safety.

Some  batteries may need to be soldered and fixed into portable equipment to prevent movement, and may need fitted by a technician to ensure electrical fire safety compliance.
